Vigience provides conceptual advice and development services to Vodafone for the
Vodafone Application Service (VAS) - a new Software as a Service (SaaS) offering
that mobilizes enterprise applications (Siebel, Oracle, Remedy, Salesforce.com,
SAP, etc) onto mobile smart devices (BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Symbian devices).
As a certified Vodafone partner, Vigience implements several of these concepts as
real-life solutions that are marketed and sold by Vodafone to their customers.
The Challenge
- Vodafone Global Enterprise offers managed services to Vodafone's multinational and
B2B clients
- The VAS is deployed at various Vodafone Operating Companies around the world
- Although the infrastructure and business model were in place, content (applications)
was limited
- Any proposed content cannot favour any one device in the Global Handset Portfolio

- Vodafone called on Vigience to help flesh out the offering with application content

- We outlined several business processes where demand was strong for mobile offerings
- Worked with Vodafone to realise application content for the VAS

- A set of application content for the VAS that comes pre-integrated with SAP
- Application content for almost all of the Global Handset Portfolio devices (one
is on as-needed basis)
- A selection of mobile business application ideas and scenarios for future development
- An integration factory to help Vodafone integrate its partner's applications with
SAP
VAS Solution Overview
The Vodafone Applications Service enables mobile users to remotely interact with
their business applications (Siebel, Oracle, Remedy, Salesforce.com, SAP, etc) from
their BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, or Symbian device.
