"Mastering SAP Plant Maintenance" conference (Gold Coast, 23rd - 25th November)

Vigience is at the "Mastering SAP Plant Maintenance" conference. Mike Edginton - Facilities and Asset Manager, Department of Conservation (New Zealand) - will present the story of how the NZ Department of Conservation successfully implemented SAP Mobile Asset Management (MAM) in September 2008 and improved the mobile application's response times and user acceptance thanks to a MAM client re-design. The Enterprise Gateway SaaS service, a collaborative between NEC System Technologies and Vigience to rewrite the book on how to integrate ERP systems with SaaS systems, were a highlight at the Salesforce.com Cloudforce Japan event. The Enterprise Gateway allows for complex integration tasks to be done in minutes instead of weeks and interested customers can start using the SaaS service for free using a developer license. Demonstrations included a 5-min development task of merging SAP-based data sources with non-SAP based data (SQL, Oracle, etc.) in a Sales Portal, as well as the integration of real-time ATP into standard Salesforce.com CRM.

Vigience moves to a new building

On July 10th, the Vigience staff moved into a second office building, aptly named "Vigience Building 2." The original location will be kept, re-furnished and one unit plans to move back there once the summer is over. The additional office location reflects our recent expansion which will help to make us a stronger supplier of SAP (and recently non-SAP) enterprise software consulting services by ex-SAP developers (and new-found heavy-hitting software talents from other companies).

Vigience cloud computing software and concepts will be demonstrated at the NEC Enterprise Cloud Computing Seminar in Tokyo on the 3rd of July. The seminar will explore enterprise cloud computing concepts and trends; the Vigience-NEC Enterprise Gateway service as an connector between core enterprise systems and SaaS, as well as relevant customer success stories. Presentations will be given by executives from NEC, NEC System Technologies, Salesforce.com and Frontier One. Vodafone launches the VAS community site

Vodafone shows for the first time the Vodafone Application Service (VAS) applications we helped to build. Check out the fun-to-watch product explanations at http://vas.vodafone.com. These are ready-to-use and fully SAP integrated BlackBerry and Windows Mobile solutions that are offered as a service (Mobile SaaS). Features include support for SAP business rules (customizing settings) on the device, two-way real-time push, and integration with native device functions. For the non-SAP customers out there, these applications also integrate with Salesforce, Oracle and others.

At the Fujitsi Forum 2009, Fujitsu demonstrated Vigience developed AJAX-based integration with SAP Business All-in-One to retrieve ATP information. This enables Sales staff to ascertain in real time the availability, quantity, and location of a product in real-time. The AJAX approach by based on standard web-service enabled BAPI's ensures a very low-cost, light-weight but effective integration between an Internet-based Sales Portal on Salesforce.com and SAP Business All-in-One.

Vigience and NEC System Technologies collaborate on a new SaaS offering: the Enterprise Gateway service will provide unique on-demand connectivity between SAP, Salesforce.com, Oracle, SQL Server, BI tools and other systems. This is "Integration-as-a-Service" and will be of particular interest to a lot of SAP customers. The option to have SAP data natively available on-demand in Salesforce.com's enterprise cloud computing platform provides a powerful incentive to any SAP customer to do their SAP add-on developments in Force.com. Since both Force.com and the Enterprise Gateway are provided as a subscription-based service, customers can avoid upfront expenses and only need to pay based on actual usage. Spring BBQ Fest

Vigience is holding another one of their famous "Fests", this one is to welcome Spring into our neighborhood - The Spring BBQ Fest. Please join us on 24.04.09 and get an early start on the weekend by enjoying some BBQ food and refreshing beverages in the open air (weather permitting). Access Map.

Festivities start at High Noon (12:00) and will go on till 16:00. We will then move on to the next venue which will be determined soon. Bring a ball, a frisbee a hacky sack or anything to have fun with. Please RSVP Marc so he can make sure you will also get something to eat and drink (and to inform you in case of cancellation due to weather).

Vigience's first SAP GTS customer goes live in the USA

One of the world's largest food exporters went live with their SAP GTS system at the beginning of the month and has started processing its exports electronically with this productive system. This includes electronic customs declarations via EDI that are generated based on SAP ERP delivery and invoice documents as well as the world's first GTS deployment able to process EDI change messages (implemented by Vigience).

Marc Hrabak, an old-time SAP veteran (D000340) in SAP's Finance section, joined Vigience as head of operations. He set up SAP AG's global cost center structure in 1992 before heading up SAP North East Asia's internal business consulting unit and becoming their head of controlling in the late nineties. After spending the beginning of the new millenium in Hawaii setting up a successful coffee & wine bar ("Living the good life"), he decided to come back to Japan and join his ex-colleagues at the up and coming start-up that is Vigience...
