Jobs

The Vigience difference lies in its people. Part of that is due to a very selective hiring policy where we recruit only top-class professionals; another part is in the Vigience corporate culture and methodologies that we live.

The Vigience culture

Vigience allows for individuality and provides scope for personal growth.

Key elements of our culture include:

  • A high level of individual responsibility
  • The open exchange of information
  • Open style of management, characterized by mutual respect and trust
  • Flextime with no time-recording system
  • Equal opportunities in both managerial and specialist careers

The Hiring Process

The Vigience hiring process is probably longer and more intense than anything you have experienced so far. In hiring we want to select the right people - people that share the values we live and people that we enjoy spending time together.

As a general rule, we interview to see that the candidate is a fit for the Vigience team both in terms of character and personality as well as to confirm that the candidate possesses the strong problem-solving abilities, self-management skills, and technical skills (in that order) that a job at Vigience would demand of them. All our candidates go through either a technical exercise or a trial period as a contractor and interview most future colleagues so that by the time of employment, the employee is on a rolling start and has no big surprises.

In order to achieve the maximum possible mutual respect, team work and management excellence, every Vigience employee starts at the bottom - even if just for a few weeks - and works his or her way up. "Up" can mean moving from a small project to a large / high-profile project, or position-wise from junior consultant to senior consultant to engagement manager.

Open Positions

Vigience currently actively looks to fill the following open positions:

New Graduates

Vigience is also interested in hiring new graduates of Information Technology or related subjects. Important is a high level of independent thought and initiative, a great work attitude, a competitive mindset, pride in the work delivered and outstanding problem-solving skills.

We offer a flexible work environment where you will be treated as an equal from day one and be given the same opportunities. Working at Vigience will allow you to maintain a private life from year one as we measure you by the results you deliver and not by the hours you perform. Working at Vigience will give you the opportunity to see many great companies in this world as a sub-contracted consultant. An international environment where you work with people from Europe, Japan and the USA is a given and international travel a strong possibility.

Last but not least, a "Vigience degree" will provide you the credibility to work at many other companies such as the ones on our client list and make you a "portable" employee that can work anywhere (should you ever want to leave).

If interested, please send your application documents to marc@vigience.com.

Internships

Vigience offers a compelling work environment for interns where you get to work with some remarkable industry experts and individuals. Vigience members include some of SAP's globally youngest managers and directors who rose through the SAP ranks in their early twenties and themselves started as interns at SAP. You will work with some very smart people who will teach you new ways to approach work and problems.

Vigience staff love to coach promising young employees and help them grow beyond expectation during their time at Vigience.

The work environment is very international. Common languages are English, Japanese and German - mostly we settle on English though. International business is a given; trips abroad a possibility for some.

Applications from within Japan

Vigience Japan* is interested in taking interns and graduates from Japanese universities to perform an internship or work part-time as part of their Information Technology education.

Working at Vigience will provide you a crash course in how to excel in the corporate environment and consistently deliver professional results even under the most difficult of circumstances. Furthermore, working at Vigience can help differentiate you from the competition in your future career. Two previous interns have landed jobs at Toyota – Japan's most prominent employer- thanks in part to their part-time work they did over 1 1/2 years with Vigience.

If interested, please send your application with a resume to marc@vigience.com.

Applications from abroad

Vigience Japan* is generally interested in taking in interns that want or need to perform an internship as part of their Information Technology education.

The company typically only pays minimum wage for internships and does not take responsibility for acquiring the appropriate visa, insurance, flight and accommodation.

Please note that the cost of living in Japan is very high and the language barrier is difficult for beginners. As such, an application from abroad is only meaningful if the financing is secured and the insurance and organizational questions are resolved.

If interested, please send your application with a resume and your internship guidelines of your university/school to marc@vigience.com.

*Vigience International based in Switzerland does not accept internships at this point in time.

Applicant Database

At Vigience there are often opportunities to get employment at short notice via our applicant database. Pre-conditions for inclusion are strong SAP-related experience or strong .NET or Java development skills. If you possess such skills and are willing to work at Vigience we would like to hear from you.

If interested, please send your application with a resume to marc@vigience.com.
